The essentials
A quote is more useful when you understand which details can change coverage, access and cost.
Part A helps cover inpatient hospital care and certain services; Part B helps cover doctors, outpatient care, medical equipment and preventive services.
Also called Part C, it is an alternative offered by Medicare-approved private plans. It includes Parts A and B and usually Part D, with its own network, costs and rules.
Part D helps cover prescriptions. Medigap can help with certain out-of-pocket costs under Original Medicare, but it is not used with Medicare Advantage.
Review doctors, hospitals, prescriptions, pharmacies, premiums, copays, deductibles, network rules, authorizations and potential yearly cost.
